Judgment & Decree

Northern India Canal and Drainage Act (VIII of 1873) Revision--‑Order of Commissioner final--‑Revision against order of Commissioner‑--Whether competent. These are two applications Nos. 268 and, 269 of 1955‑56 for revision against the order of the Commissioner, Multan Division. dated 7‑5‑56, upholding the order of the D. C. O. Burala Division, dated 25‑10‑55, whereby penal charges were imposed on the petitioners for unauthorised irrigation of their lands. The counsel for the petitioners is not present to‑day. Only Raja has appeared on behalf of the other petitioners. Rules 100 and 101 of Rules framed under the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, which empowered the Financial. The Commissioners to interfere in revision with the orders of the Commissioners in these cases have since been cancelled. The order of the Commissioner is final and no revision lies. Both the applications are accordingly dismissed. K. M. A. Applications dismissed.
