My friend and I want to start a business together. Is it better to register a partnership firm under the Partnership Act or a private limited company under SECP? What is the process for a partnership?

Partnership firm is cheaper to set up. You write a Partnership Deed on stamp paper and register it with the local Registrar of Firms (District level). However, partners have unlimited liability. A SECP company provides limited liability (your personal assets are safe) and is preferred by investors. Registering a company is slightly more expensive but legally safer.
