Petitioner, sentenced to one year's R.I. plus fine, filed application for suspension of sentence and grant of bail

Sentence being short, was suspended and petitioner admitted to bail. Asmat Kamal Khan for Appellant Nemo for the State This is an application for suspension of sentence of the petitioner and for the grant of bail in which notice was given to the State on 26-10-1981 but no counsel for the State has appeared. The petitioner has been convicted under section 161, P.P.C. read with section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, A 1947 and sentenced to one year's R.I. plus fine. Since the sentence is short, it is Suspended and the petitioner is admitted to bail subject to his furnishing security in the sum of Rs.10,000 with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Assistant Commissioner, Lahore.
