Judgment & Decree
On 22-11-2010 the respondent gave an undertaking to stop the burning and dumping of poultry waste and to construct another Mortality Pit for the birds/chicks. Learned representative of the complainant department was directed to get the site inspected for verifying the stoppage of dumping and burning of poultry waste and the construction of another Mortality Pit for the burial of the dead birds. Current status/re-inspection report of the respondent unit has been filed today which reveals that the poultry farm owner has built one more Mortality Pit for the dead birds. Learned representative of the complainant department states that the dead birds and chicks are now being burnt in the said Mortality Pit which has been covered with lime and are not being burnt and dumped in the open. In view of the compliance of the undertaking given by respondent, the complaint is disposed of as fructified. (Sd)/- (Sd)/- Khawaj a Muhammad Afzal Ch. Khalil (Chairperson) (Member Tech.) I disagree with the order dated 17-1-2011 passed by the worthy Chairperson due to the following reasons: Site Inspection Report filed on 17-1-2011 conducted by the Inspector Inam ul Haq is incomplete having no details regarding all the precautionary measures adopted by the respondent poultry farm. It also do not provides the exact distance of respondent ' Poultry Farm from the Rawal Lake catchment area and the residential area of the village. Therefore, in thy view before disposing of the complaint the. Site Inspection Report of the respondent poultry farm has to be conducted in details.
