I have a clothing brand and want to register my logo and brand name. How do I apply for a trademark with the Intellectual Property Organization (IPO)? How long does registration take?

First, perform a Trademark Search at IPO to ensure the name is unique. Then file Form TM-1 with the prescribed fee. IPO will examine the application and publish it in the Trademark Journal for public objections. If no objections are received within 2 months, your trademark is registered. The entire process takes about 12 to 18 months.
