I want to file my tax returns to become a filer and avoid double tax on banking transactions. What is the deadline, and how long does it take for my name to appear on the FBR Active Taxpayer List?

The annual taxreturn deadline is usually September 30th. You file your returns through the FBR IRIS portal. Once submitted, your name will appear on the ATL. If you file after the deadline, you mustpay a surcharge (PKR 1,000 for salaried, PKR 2,000 for individuals) to get instantly placed on the ATL.
