Criminal Miscellaneous No.562‑Q of 1975, decided on 26th January, 1986. ‑‑‑S.561‑A‑‑Penal Code (XLV of 1860), Ss.380 & 392‑‑Quashment of proceedings pending before A.C.‑‑Private complaint, an old matter pending for last ten years‑‑State having no objection against quashment‑‑No useful purpose, held, would be served by proceeding against accused after lapse of ten years‑‑Proceedings quashed in circumstances. Hasnat Ahmed Khan and Khalid Ranja for Petitioner. Nemo for Respondent No.1. Akhtar Shabbir A.A.‑G. for the State. This is a petition under section, 561‑A, Cr.P.C. for quashment of proceedings pending against the petitioner by way of a private complaint at the instance of respondent No.1 under section 380/392, P.P.C. in the Court of A . C . , Lahore. The name of learned counsel for respondent No.1 has appeared in the cause list but he is absent despite the case was called. It is an old matter of 1975 and learned A.A.‑G. has no objection if the proceedings are quashed. Since it is an old matter no useful purpose will be served to proceed against the petitioner after lapse of a period of ten years.
