Legality of physical remand and police torture

Under Section 167 CrPC, remand can only be granted if the investigation cannot be completed in 24 hours and there is strong evidence. Torture is strictly prohibited under Article 14(2) of the Constitution and the Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act 2022.
