Supply of electricity at Skardu

Deputy Secretary Water and Power stated that total consumption of electricity in Skardu City was 13 MW, whereas 11 MW electricity was already in production and shortage of 2 MW was not material to create electricity problem in the city and that a power project of the capacity of 26 MW would be constructed on release of funds

Government functionary, in view of said position, had stated that in case of shortage of electricity, the alternate arrangement of diesel generators already available with the department in Skardu, subject to availability of funds, could be operated

Further proceedings in the matter, in circumstances, were closed and case was disposed of accordingly.

Judgment & Decree

The Deputy Secretary Water and Power assisted by EXN Skardu states that total consumption of electricity in Skardu City is 13 Mega Watt, whereas 11 MW electricity is already in production and shortage of 2 MW is not material to create electricity problem in City. He further states that a power project with the aid of Asian Development Bank will be constructed (Kachura) of the capacity of 26 MW and project will be started on release of fund by ADB. Mr. Shoukat Ali Sr. Advocate has stated that presently there is no shortage of electricity in Skardu city. In view of the position explained by the Deputy Secretary Water and Power assisted by XEN B&R Division Skardu and Mr. Shoukat Ali Senior Advocate, the Deputy Secretary has stated that in case of shortage of electricity the alternate arrangement of diesel Generators already available with the department in Skardu, subject to availability of fund can be operated. In view thereof, further proceeding in the matter are closed and case is disposed of accordingly. H.B.T./34/Glt Order accordingly.
