Constitutional petition

Petitioner had stated that She being Sui Juris had contracted marriage with the other petitioner with her own free-will and consent according to Sharia and Nikah had duly been registered

Petitioner had alleged that her .father who was annoyed with said marriage, in connivance with police officials was pressurizing petitioner to get divorce from her husband

Police officials were directed by the High Court to act 'strictly in accordance with law and not to interfere in the matrimonial life of petitioner and her husband and not to cause harassment to them illegally.

Judgment & Decree

IQBAL HAMEEDUR RAHMAN, J.

It is stated that petitioner No.1 being sui juris contracted marriage with petitioner No.2 with her own freewill and consent according to Sharia and Nikah was duly registered and that father of petitioner No. l respondent No.4 is annoyed with the said marriage and he in connivance with respondents Nos.1 & 2 is pressurizing the petitioner to get divorce from her husband.

2. Respondents Nos.1 & 2 are directed to act strictly in accordance with law and not to interfere in the matrimonial life of the petitioner and her husband and also not to cause harassment to them illegally.

3. With these directions, the petition stands disposed of. H.B.T./G-23/L Order accordingly.
