Judgment & Decree

ASAD MUNIR, J.

The grievance of the petitioners is that they are residents of District Jhang which has been declared Flood Affected by the Government of Punjab who has devised a policy of Financial Assistance through Wattan Cards but the petitioners have not been issued the said cards.

In their Parawise comments, the respondents have submitted that pursuant to orders of the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, Multan, in Writ Petition No.11846 of 2010 a Committee comprising of District Co-Ordination Officer (Chairman), District Officer (Revenue), District Officer Agriculture, District Officer, Livestock and Manager NADRA has been constituted for each Flood Affected district to look into the grievance of the Flood Affectees who have any grievances in respect of the issuance of Wattan Cards. As is evident from letter dated 23-11-2011 issued by Board of Revenue, Punjab, Relief and Crises Management Department a Committee comprising the said officers headed by the DCO, Jhang, has been constituted. The learned A.A.-G. states that in view of order dated 3-11-2010 passed by the Hon'ble Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, Multan, it would be appropriate that the petitioners should approach the said Committee for redressal of their grievances.

In the circumstances, this writ petition along with its annexures is transmitted to DCO, Jhang, who shall place the grievance of the petitioners before the said Committee who shall give personal hearing to the petitioners along with their counsel and take a decision in the matters preferably within a fortnight but not exceeding one month from the date of receipt of this order. Disposed of. H.B.T./R-9/L Order accordingly.
